Parent & Caregiver Education
If you have a child or teen who is struggling with tantrums, meltdowns, explosions, implosions or other negative behaviors, you are not alone. Many caregivers who come to us have tried many forms of behavior modification – timeouts, rewards, medication – often without success. We’re here to help!
Collaborative Problem Solving® classes provide support for parents, strengthen positive relationships and build the skills needed for success at home and at school. These skills allow individuals to better handle everyday demands and stresses. This is a free 8-week course available to Oregon parents and caregivers.
You will learn how to help your child or teen:
- Solve problems
- Regulate emotions
- Communicate frustrations
- Build tolerance
- Develop positive communication patterns
Offered online and in person, classes are facilitated by teachers certified in Collaborative Problem Solving through ThinkKids of Massachusetts General Hospital, where the model was developed. Funding for this free online parenting classes program is provided by the Oregon Health Authority and Early Childhood Hub of Lane County.
